Ek in oorvloed

"Ek dink ek voel alweer te veel"

sny my woorde deur die lug.

My ma kyk na my deur die selfoonskerm.

Haar reaksie is vreeslik versigtig.

En eintlik hoef sy dit nie te doen nie;

ek weet my skouers dra baie swaar.

Die klerekaste in my kop

is geneig om leë hangers te bewaar.

Ek draai 'n natgehuilde kussing

weer om na die ander kant.

Ek weet nie hoe ek elke keer

in dieselfde situasie kan beland.

Skerwe lê langs hoofpaaie en treinspore;

in Oliewenhuis en Mary se Ierse kroeg.

Ek wil nie meer myself uitleën nie.

My hartspiere is al lankal te moeg.

Dus spoel ek jou naam uit my mond

met Listerine en sout.

Dalk moet ek bietjie net my bek hou.

Dalk was ek nog heeltyd die fout.
