Do not mourn me

When I am gone, do not cry – play my favourite songs.

I will dance and be free at last.

Do not mourn me. Live for me,

But be alive in doing so – take in the trees, let the wind caress your face,

and the sun and feel its rays on your flesh,

and the moon, gaze upon its nocturnal body,

And the morning air, allow it to fill your lungs.

When I am gone, do not bring me fresh flowers – it shall wilt and shrivel like my soul.

When I am gone, do not miss me – for as when I was here, distance grew broader than your love.

When I am gone, let go of me, let my body rot from the flesh to bone – may the maggots feast on imperfections that once was.

When my eyes shut and turn to darkness, let my memory descend.
