DESTINY IN A TELEPHONE CALL

The mosquito makes his rounds,

Over the radio the politicians speak,

And the microwave pings,

And in the morning through my computer,

We shall meet again.

I’ve never felt your embrace,

not once have I touched your skin.

I don’t know what you smell like,

or all the places that you’ve been.

Day by day I can't stop thinking of you,

Perhaps one day we’ll meet,

and I’ll actually hold you close

I’ve never been lost in your eyes,

nor have I wiped your tears.

I don’t know how well you sleep,

or if your mind is filled with fears.

And in the morning through my computer,

We shall meet again, reflecting tender fears,

I can’t give you a smile for comfort,

Thoughts of life and an “Ask” is all I can give.

My slow hell is the need to hear your voice,

Destiny in a telephone call.
