DEATH

Sticky.

Warm.

Thick.

Liquid oozes from my belly at a lick.

The dagger has pierced

It is my time to die.

Had thought I would feel

despair and black,

and numbness concealed.

Because that’s what they had said, those wisecracks

But no one was close to the real deal.

Instead of going dark, everything is white.

Pure ethereal light

No flashes ignite.

The pain has ended for sure.

Life gave nothing but hurt,

and now let’s see what death has in store.

Life was deafening; death quiet.

Death is not the end of life,

but a new beginning,

of an eternity free from strife.

I suffered in life, now I look forward to winning.
