Behind The Beauty Of Nature

By B S Anagha

There are flowers, leaves, stems, branches, and roots,

Fruits and vegetables we reap—thanks to photosynthesis.

But what an effort they must undergo!

Each plant, tree, and bush is unique—

In design, shape, and size—

In every way, they are simply extraordinary.

And yet—they live for us.

They communicate for survival,

Respond to music, feel our touch,

Smell divine, whisper with the wind,

Heal through connection,

And joyfully grow alongside us.

They take in the air we exhale,

And give back the breath of life.

Alas, for our survival—

They protect us from everything:

Landslides, erosion, disasters across the globe,

Absorb dust, purify water, and even shield us from wild animals.

Yet, we humans have the audacity to lecture.

We ignore them—“Ah, it’s just another tree for show.”

But they are the balance, the quiet beauty of this ecosystem,

Homes to millions—birds, animals, and insects.

And still—we snatch it away.

What cruelty is this?

We rob their playfulness, their silent smile, love.

Can we ever truly connect with them again?

What if the same happened to us?

What if someone stole our home—

Not even in our wildest dreams could we bear it.

Are we just… killing machines?

Driven by fancy, material wants?

We call it Mother Nature—

Yet can we truly say we treat her as such,

We have our issues to sort out, what an irony?
