As Long As There Is a Spark

Me:

What if I wake tomorrow

and feel nothing?

Mind:

Then wake.

I’ll find something.

Me:

What if I’m tired

of finding something?

Mind:

Then rest.

But don’t call the pause an ending.

Me:

What if everything I believed in

falls apart?

Mind:

Then I’ll gather the pieces

and look for light between them.

Me:

What if I lose my reason?

Mind:

Then don’t make one reason

carry your whole heart.

I’ll give you another—

a dream, a laugh,

a little victory,

a tomorrow you haven’t met.

Me:

And when even tomorrow

feels too far?

Mind:

Then forget tomorrow.

Give me today.

Give me one small thing

worth doing.

Me:

Why do you keep trying?

Mind:

Because somewhere beneath

all your exhaustion,

you still leave me

a little light to find.

And as long as there is a SPARK,

I will make it a reason.
