About one I once knew

Kiss of scarlet blood and velvet wine

Hair untamed, and skin like moonshine.

Revealing herself in curling smoke

Even when im there, her heart stays broke.

Nails that pierce, and eyes that claw

She’s nobody’s child, untouched by law.

Brushstrokes so fine, she’s out of range

Her art’s a sin, her touch deranged.

Turning points and love of pain

Rhythmic like a moving train.

Tender looks that speak of rhyme

Forever hers til the end of time.

I see the cracks beneath the gold,

A thousand secrets left untold.

The closer that I pull her near,

The less of her is ever here.

Smell of leather burns off her skin

Slow and sweet like a love akin.

Curves of heaven and bliss of hell

Left and didn’t even wish me well.

I thought the darkness made her deep,

I thought the wounds were mine to keep.

Love her today, loved her then,

Even after I watched her walk away again.
