A Little Science

I thought I had moved past it,

but who knew I was storing it in,

and it froze in place.

Now that I can stop

and think about it,

it's boiling up like heartburn

no medicine can fix.

The steam condensing

and rolling down my eyes.

I had tucked it in

deep,

so now, when it erupts,

it explodes within,

burning everything around.

It hurts when people

are hurting because of me,

but they are the reason

it was stored in the first place.

Being nice was a choice,

but now it's a regret,

as this pain is hard to bear.
