A warm autumn befalls,

Those leaves dance in the air while

A breeze carries a tune graceful.

The foliage, wilted, huddled together,

Standing above, the soil untouched.

Different branches from the same tree,

Stretching as gravity pulls a weight insubstantial.

Now falls the leaf before bearing fruit,

Stagnant in view, yet descending so freely.

It sways to groundward and

Onto the covered earth where I stand.

A warm autumn befalls,

I'm flying in the air, riding the wind.

A simple melody from a breeze and

I'm already decaying from joy.

Once I left, only once I am destroyed.

Now, I'm falling as fast as I could fly.

Pity me, I once had a chance;

Pity me, now I'm eager for death;

And pity you, about to stain your steps,

For my foolishness has me on a leash.
