A Heart Left Open

Your heart ached for me

And I said I loved you

But now you only feel heartache

My love hurt you

It broke you into tiny pieces

Tore you apart beyond repair

We were supposed to be a pair

Yet I broke us

I alone is to be blamed

Left you bleeding

Tore your heart out

And left it in the open

Now all you feel is loathing towards me

I hear regret in your words

Sadness is evident in your voice

The resentment is loud as thunder

It’s all in the open

You tried to be tender with the truth

But your heart overpowers it
