A BARREN SOUL

She leaned her body against the car seat again that night.

Watching the building pass by in silence.

Wounded,

To give her heart out again,

To someone who will hand it back to her,

shattered in pieces.

Petrified,

Thats her.

His hand was wrapped tight around the steering wheel,

Not wanting to let go as if this night could destroy them both.

His reticence made him a mysterious figure.

But then his reassurance left an indelible mark on her.

From nothing to asking her god to nurture the warmth in her heart.

To cherish the feelings,

To treasure the moment,

As one.

The most beautiful part is,

She wasn’t looking for a person,

But then she found home.
