ശില്പിയെ തേടിയ യാത്ര

ഈ ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും നല്ല ശില്പിയെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു

ഞാൻ യാത്രയായി-

നടന്നു നടന്നു

ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തെത്തി;

ഇനി നടക്കാനിടമില്ലെന്ന് തോന്നിയപ്പോൾ

എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ ഒരു വാതിൽ തുറന്നു.

യാത്രയിലുടനീളം

പ്രകൃതിയെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടു-

അതിന്റെ സൗന്ദര്യം

വേണ്ടുവോളം ആസ്വദിച്ചു.

കാടുകളും മലകളും,

പുഴകളും തോടുകളും,

നെൽപ്പാടങ്ങളുടെ പച്ചപ്പും,

ആടിയുലയുന്ന പനകളും തെങ്ങുകളും,

ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അശേഷ നീലവും-

എത്ര മനോഹരം ഈ സൃഷ്ടി!

എത്ര മനോഹരി ഈ പ്രകൃതി!

രാത്രിയിൽ വിരിയുന്ന താരങ്ങൾ,

ശാന്തമായി ചിരിയോടെ നിന്ന ചന്ദ്രൻ-

ഇവയൊക്കെയും

ഈശ്വരന്റെ കലാവിരുതല്ലേ?

സർവ്വചരാചരങ്ങളെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചവൻ

അങ്ങനെ മനുഷ്യനെയും ഭൂമിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചു.

ആണിനെയും പെണ്ണിനെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു-

പൌരുഷവും ഗൗരവവും നൽകി ആണിനു,

മൃദുത്വവും സൗമ്യതയും നൽകി പെണ്ണിനു;

ഒന്നിനൊന്ന് പൂർത്തിയാകാൻ

രണ്ടു സ്വരങ്ങൾപോലെ

രണ്ടു ഹൃദയങ്ങൾ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തി.

വ്യത്യസ്ത വടിവുകളോടെ,

വ്യത്യസ്ത സ്വഭാവങ്ങളോടെ,

ഒന്നിനെ മറ്റൊന്നിലേക്ക് ആകർഷിക്കുന്ന

അദൃശ്യമായൊരു നൂൽപാലം കെട്ടി-

അങ്ങനെ സൃഷ്ടി പൂർണ്ണമായി.

അവസാനം ഞാൻ മനസ്സിലാക്കി-

പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും നല്ല ശില്പി

ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തല്ല,

എന്റെ ഉള്ളിലായിരുന്നു.

അത് ഈശ്വരൻ തന്നെയല്ലേ?
