குளப் பரணி

(நீர்வற்றிய குளத்தில் இருந்த இறந்த மீன்களையும், செடிகொடிகளையும், களையிழந்து கரையில் நிற்கும் நெடுமரங்களையும் கண்ணுற்ற கவிஞருக்கு அவ்விடம் போர்க்களமாகத் தோன்றுகிறது. எனவே அவ்விடத்தைக் களமாக உருவகித்துப் பரணி பாடத்தொடங்குவது போல் இக்கவிதை புனையப்பட்டுள்ளது)

கலிவிருத்தம்

கடிபகை வேந்தன் களத்தே மகிழ்ந்திருந்தான்

முடியுடை மன்னன் மாண்டு மடிந்ததனால்

வடிநவில் நவியம் வதைத்துத் துயர்விளைக்க

கடிமரம் விழுந்தே கதறித் துடித்ததங்கே.

விடுவெனை யென்றே விடுத்த பேரொலியோ

கடுவனம் பரவிக் கடுகி விரிந்ததுவே

விடுகதிர் விடுப்போன் விரைந்து வந்ததுமே

படுமுடி ஒளிர்ந்து பரவித் தகித்ததுவே.

ஊழ்த்தசை நிறைந்த ஊழ்த்த அவ்வனத்தே

பாழ்த்த குடராம் பாவி யாமெனவே

தாழ்புயல் அனையத் தாழ்குழ லாளரற்றி

மூழ்கியே குழறி மாழ்கிப் புலம்பினளே.

கூர்மகள் உலவும் களமப் போர்க்களமாம்

ஊர்முகம் அடைந்த உற்றார் துடித்திடவே

சார்ந்தார் கலங்கிச் சோரச் சேர்ந்தாளின்

தார்விழத் தழுவும் தானை கிடந்தததுவாம்.

அவிழும் கால அழகினைப் பதித்திட

செவியை அடைத்துச் சிந்தனை கூட்டியே

கவிதை புனைய களத்தைத் தேடியேயான்

கவின்மிகு இடமென குளக்கரை அமர்ந்தேன்

சீர்கேடு உற்றிடச் சேறும் சகதியுமாய்

ஊர்ப்புறக் குளமோ ஓய்ந்து கிடந்ததனால்

போர்க்களம் பாடிடு பொருநன் போலேயான்

பார்க்காத களத்திற்குப் பாடினேன் குளப்பரணி.
