શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

સ્વાર્થ - સ્વાર્થમાં પણ ફેર છે,

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો પ્રેમના બદલામાં પ્રેમ માગે,

તો આપી દઉં.

પણ પ્રેમના બદલામાં સમજણ માગે,

તો કેમ આપીશ હું?

ભણેલી-ગણેલી જાણીને લાવ્યા,

બદલામાં આપી જવાબદારીઓ.

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો ઘસતા-ઘસાતા તારા પગ લડખાય,

તો ટેકણ આપી દઉં.

પણ એકલા ચાલવાની આશા રાખીશ,

તો કેમ ચાલીશ હું?

મન મળ્યા ને જીવન એક જ થયું,

છતાં બંને ઘરની આબરું સાચવીને એકલી ચાલી હું.

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો ખરાબ સમય આવે તારો,

તો અડીખમ ઉભી રહીશ હું.

પણ "મને તારી મદદ જોઈ છે" એ બોલાવીશ,

તો કેમ બોલીશ હું?

ઢીંગલી-પોતિયાથી રમતી નાનકડી હતી હું,

હવે મોટી વાતો શીખડાવી.

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો હર્યું-ભર્યું રાખવાનું હોય ઘર,

તો રાખી લઉં.

પણ બદલામાં મારું મૌન માંગીશ,

તો કેમ આપીશ હું?

સપના મેં મોટા-મોટા જોયા,

પણ વાસ્તવિકતાથી પરિચિત કરાવી.

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો ઈચ્છઓ ત્યાગ કરવાની હોય મારી,

તો કરી દઉં.

પણ સૌની ઈચ્છાઓ પર ખરી ઉતરાવીશ,

તો કેમ ઉતરીશ હું?

નાની અમથી વાત પર રોઈ લેતી,

મોટા ઘા સહન કરતી થઇ ગઈ.

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો બદલવાનો હોય સ્વભાવ મારો,

તો બદલી લઉં.

પણ જાતને ખોરવીને જીવવા કહીશ,

તો કેમ જીવીશ હું?

બુક ને પેન સંભાળતા-સંભાળતા,

રસોડું સંભાળતી થઇ ગઈ.

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો તણાવ હોય સ્વજનો વચ્ચે,

તો તારવી લઉં.

પણ મુંજવણમાં મુકીશ મને,

તો કેમ વિચારીશ હું?

એક કુળને આગળ વધારવા,

એક કુળ પાછળ મુક્યો.

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો જીદ હોય તારી,

તો નમતું મૂકી દઉં.

પણ સન્માન ઘવાય મારો,

તો કેમ સમજીશ હું?

મર્યાદામાં ઉછેર થયો,

પણ દુનિયા-દારી શીખાવી જાણી.

શું સ્વાર્થી નથી તું, એ કેમ માની લઉં?

જો ઓળખ બદલવાની હોય મારી,

તો બદલી લઉં.

પણ માણસ ઓળખ્યા પછી જતું કરવાનું કહીશ,

તો કેમ કરીશ હું?

સ્વાર્થ - સ્વાર્થમાં પણ ફેર છે,
