मर्द होना आसान नहीं होता

मर्द होना आसान नहीं होता।

बेख़ौफ़ होकर सड़कों पर घूमना,

ना पीछा करने का डर होता,

अरे, उनका भी तो घर-परिवार है,

ये नहीं सोचा?

मर्द होना आसान नहीं होता।

पूरे घर को अपने कंधों पर संभालते हैं,

अपनी इच्छाओं को त्याग कर दूसरों की इच्छाओं को पूरा करते हैं।

यह सब चीज़ें बचपन से शुरू हो जाती हैं-

जब परीक्षा में अच्छे अंक प्राप्त करते, तो पापा कहते "मेरा बेटा Engineer बनेगा",

और ख़राब अंक आते, तो पापा गाली देते।

बस, "जी पापा" कहकर अपने को अंदर दबा लेते।

मर्द होना आसान नहीं होता।

जब परिवार या दोस्तों से लड़ाई हो,

या फिर व्यापार (Business) का कोई झगड़ा हो,

ना अपना दुःख अभिव्यक्त कर पाते,

ना अपने आँसू बहा पाते।

क्योंकि बचपन से ही कहा जाता है-

"तुम लड़के हो, लड़के नहीं रोते।"

इस समाज ने कभी सोचा नहीं

कि लड़के भी तो एक इंसान हैं,

उनकी भी भावनाएँ होती हैं, इच्छाएँ होती हैं,

मर्दानगी के नाम पर बस दबा दिए जाते हैं।

इसलिए एक बात हमेशा याद रखना-
