छोड़ दो डोरियाँ

छोड़ दो डोरियाँ, उसे स्वच्छंद उड़ने दो।

खोल दो बेड़ियाँ, उसे गंतव्य तक पहुँचने दो।

तुम पूछोगे, कौन-सी डोरियाँ और कौन-सी बेड़ियाँ?

हमारी बेटी, बहू और माँ तो आज़ाद है।

रहने का, खाने का, बोलने का उनका अपना अंदाज़ है।

मैं कहूँगी, चार दीवारें, चार निवाले और चार शब्द आज़ादी की निशानी नहीं हैं।

छोड़ दो वो डोरियाँ जो कहती हैं,

वो किन खिलौनों से खेलेगी, वो किन किताबों को पढ़ेगी?

वो कहाँ जाएगी, वो कब वापस आएगी?

वो किसको दोस्त बनाएगी?

वो कब और किसके नाम का सिंदूर लगाएगी?

वो कौन-सा रिश्ता कब तक निभाएगी?

वो कब, क्या, क्यों और कैसे करेगी?

इन सारे प्रश्नों की डोरियाँ छोड़ दो।

डोरियाँ जो कभी लफ़्ज़ों और कभी आँखों से पूछती हैं,

वो अकेली क्यों रहती है? उसके इतने दोस्त क्यों हैं?

वो इतना हँसती क्यों है? उसके मिज़ाज में इतनी तल्ख़ी क्यों है?

वो इतने सादे कपड़े क्यों पहनती है? उसके रहन-सहन में इतना सजीलापन क्यों है?

वो अधेड़ उम्र में चटकीले रंग क्यों पहनती है? उसके बालों में अब काली की ज़रूरत क्यों है?

सुंदर, गुणवान होकर भी वो अधूरी क्यों है? सब कुछ होते हुए भी उसकी आँखों में नमी क्यों है?

इन सब प्रश्नों की डोरियाँ छोड़ दो, इन सब धारणाओं की बेड़ियाँ तोड़ दो।

अगर सवाल है मन में उसकी उड़ान, चाल, जीत, हार या जीवन को लेकर, तो उनको चर्चा का जामा मत पहनाओ।

बस एक सादा मन लेकर उसके पास जाओ।

पूछो उसे हर सवाल, क्योंकि वो भी बताना चाहती है और खुलकर बताएगी।

पर अगर तुम्हारी आँखों या अल्फ़ाज़ों में छुपी डोरियाँ दिखेंगी,

तो वो ख़ामोश ही रह जाएगी, वो तुम्हें कभी समझ नहीं आएगी।

डोरियाँ छोड़ दो ये अर्थहीन।

और फिर देखो उसकी मुस्कान, उसकी उड़ान।

देखना क्यों कहते हैं उसे शिव की शक्ति!

देखना क्यों कहते हैं उसे प्रकृति!
