By Manan Chowdhry
Translation
The Death of Thoughts
Papers and ink together, adopted some thoughts.
Along with time the thoughts also seemed to be maturing.
These carefree and fearless thoughts kept getting the education of the times and the world kept turning pages.
When the ink started to fade, someone set the papers on fire.
Unaware, these thoughts made their home in the mind,
It would’ve been appropriate that they too would’ve been swept away in those flames.
When the house got old, it’s residents started to get blamed,
Becoming an example of loyalty, both of them passed away.
If they wouldn’t have tried to stay alive, maybe they would’ve remained safe.
Somebody again might have put them down on paper; if they would’ve been alive and imprisoned, would they have been truly alive?
