चलो आज नये दोस्त बनाते हैं,

फिर एक बार दरिया डूब कर जाते हैं,

फिर नया क़िस्सा बनाते हैं,

अपनी कहानी थोड़ी बड़ी कर आते हैं,

चलो ना,

आज नये दोस्त बनाते हैं।

इस बार हम सच नहीं बोलेंगे,

अपने राज़ धीरे धीरे नहीं खोलेंगे,

हाथ मिला कर,

दिल नहीं लगाएँगे,

जब मन करेगा बस तभी उन्हें बुलाएँगे,

या शायद अपने पहले इस बार शर्ते बताएँगे।

तो पहली शर्त है,

हमसे हाल ए दिल ना बयान करोगे,

जो किसी रोज़ मन किया 

तो बात अधूरी ना किया करोगे,

जो हम चुप हो जाएँ,

तब भी हमसे बातें किया करोगे,

समय ना हो अगर,

तब भी एक सलाम किया करोगे।

दूसरी शर्त है,

रोज़ हाल ना पूछा करोगे,

जो लगा किसी दिन अटपटे जवाब हैं,

तो बिना जाने रफ़ा दफ़ा नहीं करोगे,

जो हम फिर भी ना बताएँ,

तो हम से साफ़ कह दिया करोगे,

की,

मैं हूँ यहीं तुम्हारे लिये हर दफ़ा,

आज ना सही कभी और हमे वजह बताना,

जब भी दिल करे बस एक पुकार लगाना,

हम आ जाएँगे वहीं जहां तुम्हें है बुलाना।

तीसरी शर्त,

हमसे मिलने को ना कहा करोगे,

घर से बाहर निकलो यहाँ वहाँ आओ का वादा ना लिया करोगे,

जो कभी मिलने का हो बहाना,

हमारे सीधा घर आ जाना,

हमारे घरवालो से बोल कर हमारे साथ बाहर ज़ाया करोगे,

बिना बताए बिना जताए

हमे हमसे छीन कर कुदरत से मिलाया करोगे,

जो ना नुकुर करे हम,

तो भी अपना हक़ समझ कर हमें फ़साया करोगे,

हम रूठ जाते हैं जब खुदसे,

तो हमें भी माना लिया करोगे।

और भी हैं कुछ शर्तें हमारी,

पर अब हमें नहीं है बतानी,

हमने बोला ना हमसे सब बुलवा लेना,

ना बोलें तो मैं यहीं हूँ हर दफ़ा बता देना।

हम ज़्यादातर दोस्ती का खेल हार जाते हैं,

उनके लिए सब हो कर, खुदको ही वार जाते हैं,

इसलिए इस बार हम शर्तें बना रहे हैं,

जो हम कह नहीं पाते, वह लिख कर बता रहे हैं।

जो मंज़ूर हो ये सब शर्तें हमारी,

तो चलो,

आज दोस्त बन जाते हैं,

आज दोस्त बन जाते हैं।
