कुछ अधूरा..

कुछ खोया खोया सा है,

पहले से ज़्यादा है

मगर पहले जैसा नहीं है,

बेफिक्रियाँ महफिल छोड़ गई

हमदर्दो की जगह तकियों ने ले ली,

रस्ते याद हुए

तो भीड़ में खो गया,

बेशिसब शब्दों को हिसाब आ गया।

जो अपना था कभी

अब पराया सा लगता है,

हर बात के पीछे

अब मतलब छिपा दिखता है,

हर हंसी में

हर खुशी में...

कोई कमी सी खलती है,

तुझे ढूंढू तो ढूंढू कैसे

ऐ जिंदगी...

सुना है, तू बचपन में मिलती है!

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

Like a lost vagabond,

something is incomplete,

surpassing the extent of achievements

present excels the past,

still the nostalgia haunts.

Carefree attitude escaped,

shoulders being replaced by the pillows,

from remembering the routes,

to getting lost in the masses,

countless words attained limits,

faces, once familiar,

now feel strange,

out of every action

there remains an underlying motive.

In every happiness and sorrow,

an incompleteness renders 

where to find you dear life

it seems you are lost in the childhood diaries
