उन्हें उनका रास्ता बता आई

फिर फूल खिले बग़ीचे में,

मौसम आज सुहाना है।

बहुत दिनों बाद उन्होंने

मेरे ठिकाने पर दस्तक दी है।

सच कहूँ,

मैंने ही उन्हें अपनी बातों में उलझाया था,

ख़ुद में उन्हें उलझाकर

थोड़ा वक़्त चुरा लेना चाहती थी-

कि वे घर का पता भूल जाएँ

और हमारी गली से गुज़रें।

थोड़ी अपनी बातें,

थोड़ी निशानियाँ छोड़ जाएँ।

अदाएँ तो उनकी बहुत हैं-

कभी मोम-सी पिघलती हुई,

तो कभी शोला बनकर बरसती हुई।

रात में टिमटिमाते तारों जैसे,

दिन के उजालों की बहारों जैसे,

इंद्रधनुष के रंगों जैसे,

गुज़रते वक़्त की आहट जैसे।

कैसे बताएँ उन्हें

कि यह प्रेम अब जन्मों का है,

इसे मिटाया नहीं जा सकता।

यह स्याही टूट तो सकती है,

पर कोई और नाम लिख नहीं सकती।

यादों में तुम न हो,

ऐसा कोई दिन गुज़र नहीं सकता।

पर उनकी ख़ुशी,

सिर्फ़ उनकी ख़ुशी के लिए,

यह सैलाब भीतर ही हृदय में दबाए-

उन्हें उनका रास्ता बता आई।

बस उनकी मुस्कुराहट देखकर,

सब कुछ भूल आई-

उन्हें उनका रास्ता बता आई।
