इस बार अपने लिए

इस बार अपने लिए

उम्र और ज़िंदगी के बीच

गहरा था दोस्ताना,

वादा किया था दोनों ने-

साथ है निभाना।

बदल रहे थे दिन,

बीत रहे थे साल,

मौसम भी बदल रहे थे।

लेकिन इस बदलाव में

उम्र अपने कदम बढ़ा रही थी,

और ज़िंदगी

अपने सपनों, खुशियों

और अपनी हसरतों को

खुशी के धागों में पिरोकर

जीना चाहती थी।

वक्त-बेवक्त

वो कोशिश करती रही,

लेकिन ज़िम्मेदारियाँ

उसे पुकारती रहीं-

“मेरी तरफ़ हाथ बढ़ा लो,

अभी अपना फ़र्ज़ निभा लो।”

बढ़ती उम्र

और ज़िम्मेदारियों के बीच

ज़िंदगी ने मौन धारण कर लिया।

एक-एक कर,

बड़ी अदा से,

ज़िम्मेदारियों के लिए

अलग-अलग किरदार निभाती रही।

थक-हारकर बैठी ज़िंदगी से

एक दिन उसके अंतरमन ने कहा-

“तू ज़िंदा तो है,

पर जी कहाँ पाई तू?

कहाँ हैं तेरी खुशियाँ?

कहाँ हैं तेरे सपने?

कहाँ हैं वो हसरतें,

जिन्हें तूने

कहीं पीछे छोड़ दिया?”

बहुत वक्त बाद

उसे इस बात का एहसास हुआ।

एक तरंग-सी उसे छू गई-

“मैं क्यों रुक गई?”

इस एहसास ने

पुनर्जन्म दिया

उसके खयालों को,

उसके नए सवालों को।

अब ज़िम्मेदारियों को साथ लेकर

अपनी कहानी में

अपनी आत्मा सहित

एक नया किरदार निभाने लगी वो।

और नई उम्मीद के साथ

फिर से उड़ने लगी वो-

इस बार उम्र के लिए नहीं,

अपने लिए।
