I wish i was the watch on your wrist,

To be your most valuable thing.

I wish i could lead you through this Mist,

As this knell of age, forever rings.


I wish i knew the importance of it,

As you read only its melodious rhyme.

Over which the maze of your mind sits,

The thing this world has named as time.


It’s true i never knew the importance of it,

Not when i cuddled you in my arms,

Not when i went through your teen mood’s summit,  

Not when you clinged back to me during the storms. 


All these emotions i’ve ever felt,

As i held your tiny hand in mine

Now bound to be crumpled down and left

These feelings under the flood of time. 


All those days I didn’t know it exists,

But now as I lie here, ill, I realize

The only thing you care about, is it’s merits,

As I into the edge of death, minimize. 

 

Now I’m just a matter of schedule to you,

A burden you barely seem to resist.

Out the role of ‘ mom ‘, i wish i never grew

I wish I was the watch on your wrist.
