“Your Heart Breaks, But Not The World’s”
By Parizad Gaur
The milkman delivers the tin of milk,
The professor blabbers the words of “wisdom”Your friends laugh amongst themselves,
The metro lines move,
Office colleagues annoy you behind your seat,
The stray dog looks for a piece of bread in the trash,
A couple of pigeons search for a branch for their nest,
The teashop near your place is surrounded by tiny cigarette butts,
Your grandma waits for your calls each evening,
Grandfather chews his food loudly,
The wind blows,
Eyes get closed,
The diesel prices never stop taking a hike,
Politicians still are corrupt,
Movies make you cry,
In the end,
It is proven in paper,
That your heart breaks, but not the world’s
By Parizad Gaur
