Your Gallery
By Amal S Lal
Countless masterpieces lay motionless,
In my gallery of only yours.
Capturing your seraphic eyes,
Innocent sleep and puzzled looks
Just like how you trace them.
For all others, the world of beauty lies
In the nature and the skies .
If Only they knew ;
Nature took insight from you -
Like the stars light the night sky,
Your fancy zits paint your cheeks.
Like the sun hiding in the clouds
Your face peek through your veil.
I hear a mellifluous voice distantly,
Was it yours or nightingales' melody ?
Stopping from my scribble,
I Looked up to the mirror.
That plum splashed face hauled me
To when our fates first crossed-
Colours and joy filled the air.
Something shiny caught my eye
T'was a portrait of you,
in the festival of harvest -
When even the heavens grew envious
Seeing you outshine his creations .
Perhaps my fate was hapless
As you, you my precious,
Never stroke even a strand of mine-
let alone a corner for me.
Perhaps i was too selfish,
For wishing the eons with you.
With a crying heart and yelling mind
I stopped my longing hands,
From raising the brush again.
For colours are needed for future.
This haven shall be my reminder
Of a world that could've been .
Lock in place , key in hand
I walk away , the pictures fading .
Yet in my gallery, there will forever lie,
A space for you my love,
Always...

I really love the way you write your feelings😍
Beautifully written. The gallery metaphor and the quiet ache of unspoken love linger long after the last line🧡.
Keep up thee work
