You fall quietly like the rain---
From the sky’s ominous shroud,
The grace of a velvet cloud;
Dissipating all my pain.
You breathe gently like the rain---
Upon the parched summer crops;
The music of your tear-drops
Making the earth whole again.
You’re nostalgic as the rain---
Without a known address;
Memories flow down your face
To Time’s willowed strain.
You flourish like the rain---
To an unfathomable sea;
Down my verse’ endless refrain,
The infinity of you and me.
