YOU DON'T KNOW ME

A Poem

You don't know me

You just know my name

I'm the silence

That can't be tamed.

You see a body

I see a cage

You smile with joy

I seethe with rage.

I wear a mask

It fits just right

But underneath

The voices fight.

My thoughts are knives

My dreams are dead

I laugh with corpses

Inside my head.

Each word I speak

Is veiled and bent

A pretty sound

With cruel intent.

You speak of light

I live for pain

My heart is bound

To an invisible chain.

You claim you feel

But you've never bled

My hands are covered

In crimson red.

So keep your distance

Play your game

But never think

We are the same

Cause you don't know me

You just know my name.
