You Can Confide in Me

When I look at you, I see the kind of person I want to be

Sometimes you say things that make me weep;

That’s how far your words seep,

But deep down in my heart I’ve always known, that what you said was for me.

I am stupid sometimes but you make me see

That the way I acted wasn’t like me.

Our conversations don’t usually end in glee

But I’ve loved every single one really

Though they leave me feeling melancholy.

The things you say are really deep

A year later I realise and my brain goes ‘yeek.’

You always know when I’m not feeling like me

Because each time you say “You can confide in me”

It was more than enough for me.

How hard that must’ve been,

Yet, with you, I feel heard and seen.

I want to thank you for always being with me; though you were a little bit mean.
