You and Me or Us?
By Nishtha Mishra
I think of you almost everyday,
But the thoughts in me aren’t put to display.
They do not put my mind at race,
It happens to go by like normal days.
The thing of you and me was ever,
A fleeting future not a dream forever.
But a part of me still endeavours,
To reach you out, let go of you never.
And here I am deprived again,
But the days and nights still be the same.
It does not hurt, me does not crave,
But a part of me has been put to grave.
Maybe it’s not supposed to hurt,
Because you and me were just inverts.
And somethings are not to be forced,
Like putting an end to a river coursed.
Not one day passes without your thought,
There was a time I recklessly fought.
But it does not kill me anymore,
But the wounds I dealt are still too sore.
And I’ll put an end to us forever,
It’s you and me, a phrase so clever.
You put them apart, they change for better,
As if you and me was us in never.
