Years Pass On and the World Moves On
Amongst the rubble and the rabble, born is a child, whose distant cry
Hears as that of any other’s, yet, don’t let it belie
The one for whom the future of this child awaits, is it pre-destined whereby,
The innocence of the new-born one can deny?
He listens to the sound of the blasts and the screams and he learns
To cover his ears and to hide in a corner before the rage churns
As his mother, father and brother all die taking turns
And death becomes the closest relative whom he earns
Then the dark figures approach, wearing robes and suits
From hungry altars and high-rising spires, searching for recruits
They take him through perilous, brain-bending routes
And engulfs him in the doctrines of eternal disputes
The rope he walks on is too harsh to walk on yet too thin to turn back
He now sees the world through a glass that is so thick and is black
All he now desires is revenge upon those who did crack
The blasts and made death his only relative and only track
Years pass on and the world moves on, forgetting the screams
In the rubble and rabble, forgetting the dark figures’ schemes
Yet he stays resolute on his track, with high spires and hatred as his beams
To the point he can’t separate the nightmares from dreams
He turns towards wherefrom the sound of the blasts originated
He is no longer angry or frustrated, only fixated
Not remembering wherefrom these instincts were cultivated
The terrorist explodes himself, along with thousands of others, unstated.
Amongst the rubble and the rabble, born is a child, whose distant cry
