Worth Fighting For

By Gayatri

I know it's been a painful run,

Didn't know you'd be too naïve;

To know not to save someone,

If you can't keep them alive.

My love, how haven't you seen,

That there's a cave pitch black;

Waiting ever since to take me in,

And never let me come back.

Darling I'm about to walk in,

And this time door is unmanned;

Sick of watering it down clean,

Just so you could understand.

I spend a thousand words to tell,

You don't care enough to dwell;

That baby, my days now are few,

My words fail me and so do you.

On second thought yet I know,

That its better you let me go;

Perhaps I was gone long ago,

And what's left will never grow.

Sometimes I wonder on my bed,

If you saved a soul already dead;

Didn't think before going to war,

If I was even worth fighting for.

So you shouldn't wish me well,

And you must not vow to guard;

There is no redemption in hell,

For beings so horribly scarred.
