Words Written In Sand

By Pratham Pagariya

I was asked what I wanted?

What could I say,

Say that I wanted to be someone,

Someone who is loved

Someone who is capable of receiving that love

Someone who is not alone

Someone who is important to others

Someone who is just not me.

Oh, how I wish

How I wish to end this misery

Go back to square one

Be somebody’s love

Have the will to hope,

Well these are just wishes,

words that are written in sand, never to be fulfilled.

Not even by the hands of that god I don’t believe in.

Even if he’s there,

Why does god give no hope to people who need it,

Why does god make those who cant be loved,

Why does god not give love to those who deserve,

Why is god so heartless towards the ones with hearts,

Alas! Nobody shall know,

What you wish to be or what you wish to have

Shall just stay words lying in some corner of the world,

And these words shall define who you are and who you become

Even in the upcoming years.
