Within

By Deeshita Ghoshal

Sweat pops,

Tears well up;

The mouth parches,

And the thoughts race.

You can't look around,

As you feel helpless -

You feel their eyes,

Awaiting your next move -

An owl's lookout for its prey as though.

Retaining composure

Feels like a mountain to move;

Yet, you collect the scattered emotions,

Put them together as in a jigsaw puzzle.

Alas, the last piece remains to find,

Where could it be, you think,

But, deep inside, you already know -

Bringing it out and putting it together,

Stability being the toughest of all.

The body and mind start to unite,

As reality and delusion put up a fight,

For the throne of thoughts to reign.

Clarity comes from the soul at last,

Buried deep within,

With experiences from the past,

A sixth sense of the lives so far -

To make, of us,

An astute warrior.

From a helpless pile.
