With Me Gone

If you could

hear a breaking heart

would you try to mend it?

If you could sense the pain

will you try to ease it?

But no, I had your words

playing like broken records

in my mind.

With a burn in my chest

I could feel your guilt

Do you want me to

make it go away?

I could see the regret

on your face

Are you planning to

make it right? Or

I will be again hearing

your voice dripping with venom

telling me

how much better it will be

with me gone.
