Wisdom Has The Best Solutions.

By Ajay Kumar

So lately, I could not sleep on time for past few days. And amongst the reasons, one was a street dog who would come to my front yard and barked like hell right in front of my window. One night, when I was annoyed at my worst, I stood up, opened three doors and rushed out for a revenge. I was so furious that I wanted to kill it for once. I picked a brick (a half brick) and threw onto it with almost all of my strength. My aim, is not that bad usually but I missed that one. The brick hit my wall first breaking a decent part of its corner, and then scattered into many pieces. The dog flew unharmed.

I came back to bed with another brick so that I could hit him from my window if it appeared again. The dog, only barked at a distance and I was even more furious but this time only on myself.

My mum was somehow, aware of the story. Next day, before we slept, she turned off all the outer lights of our house (in Brandah, and of front) and she told me to do the same for every day. The dog did not come that night and all the following nights.

It took me while to understand that he used to come into light to bark at dark and I could not figure that out for weeks. I kind of waited for him to return, and that dirty brick remained in my bedroom for three days. The dog never appeared again.

So here are the two lessons I learnt.

  1. Anger can only increase your trouble.

  2. Aim, before you hit. Just joking. True lesson is too clear that it doesn’t need to be told, I think.
