Why This Would Never Work

By Vanshi Desai

      Why this would never work:

  1. Here’s the thing. He is a self-destructive enigma. He tastes like bad decisions and misfortune, and he looks like a sin waiting to be drafted up. He gets drunk on late summer nights, and the theatre lights go out, but he never stops performing. The fight is over, but he never lets go of the gun.

  2. And despite all of this, you love him. Him and his cocky smile, the golden hallow of his voice and the blue storms that rage in his eyes. You love the way he lights up when talking about something he loves and the vein that bulges in his neck. You would follow him into fire simply because you cannot bear to let go of his hand, and you’ll come to realize you’re in love with a tragedy.
