Why Love

By Aakanksha

Why do we need love? Why do we feel suffocated when not allowed to express love? Why do people fight for it? Why is love so important to us? Looking from the perspective of an intellectual being only, love and its value seems little in one's life. But we're not just intellectual beings are we? As much as anyone can try to convince us otherwise or to make us works towards the opposite, the fact very much remains that we are emotional beings. Yes, there is fear, anger, frustration, and so much more.

And when you look at the above questions from the perspective of an emotional being, love becomes the most important, doesn't it? To conquer all other negative emotions, to be able to stand up again after being defeated by those emotions... motivation may not always work. But love will. Love will make you make an effort, for yourself, for those you love. Love will help you stand up for the things you believe in, especially if your loved ones are affected by it. What actions, jobs, hobbies - you consider yourself passionate towards, they become secondary when you think of love. Love is needed to survive.. True love is the greatest thing that could ever happen to you. To have someone who loves you and accepts you completely - makes you overwhelmed, but also makes you able to love yourself as well. And to be able to love someone in the same way, is the best gift you could give to them. So much strength, so much patience is needed to simply 'love'. Living without it, is possible of course. Very few may truly want that, unless they've been hurt in such ways that would make them apathetic. But as long as you feel - anything -, you are capable of love.

You're an emotional being; why won't you want to feel the strongest of them all?

Why not love?!
