The Past

By Varenya Shekhar

A lot has changed over the course of three years. Some for the better, and some we regret. Bittersweet memories are all that is left of the moments we shared but are also the ones we will be holding onto for a lifetime. The few memories that grow with us, aging like fine wine, are cherished in different ways; some are filled with love, others with regret and guilt, and also the ones that leave us yearning to travel back and change a few things. Looking back opens up a plethora of feelings and memories, out of which some even leave us thinking about the future. It is about embracing the curiosity, nostalgia, joy, and sorrow old recollections concurrently bring. Recalling your past is like being pricked by a small, yet quite impactful thorn of a seductive rose. How quickly time changes with every tick, and ignites the wanderer inside of us with another tock.
