Success. Ultimately, anyone and everyone seeks it out - be it consciously and actively, or inactively in their subconscious. At the end of the day, everyone wants to win. However, it is not a simple thing. To achieve the heights we desire, we must grow up to those heights - we must develop ourselves as persons. But how does that work? How does development work?

Development isn’t a one-day process, nor is it a one-year process - true development is life-long. The true ability of development is being able to continuously learn new things and to incorporate them into different walks of life. In that way, development is not a simple thing - to grow, one must struggle.

But how does someone struggle? Is it by putting themselves into trouble very often? Is it by pushing oneself beyond limits previously thought to be unconquerable? Is it by fanning a never-extinguishing fire of curiosity within? Is it by having to fight every day to make ends meet? What does it mean to struggle? In the end, all of this means struggle - just maybe not in ways you realize.

And in struggle, one may or may not be alone - but must they be alone on the path of growth? In reference to pop culture today, must it be ‘solo-levelling’ that they do? No - it need not be so - in truth, it really couldn’t be so. A person’s way to success is influenced by those around them as much as it is influenced by the person themselves. Fundamentally speaking, individual evolution is not possible without the support of others. And this fact proves true at analysis.

If we take the example of a child - considering that it is a child, who must grow the most - we see quite plainly, that in today’s society, that child does not grow alone. That child is given birth to by its parents, and brought up by them. That child is taught many things by these parents - and besides these parents, there is other family, other community members, teachers, all who contribute to a child’s education and growth.

And even when a child has grown up, they do not stop learning - they just change who they learn from. Students begin to learn not just from teachers, but from peers too. Beyond that, they learn from society. When older, people learn from their partners, coworkers, their neighbours… the list goes on. And through these examples, we begin to see quite clearly that no one can truly be ‘solo-levelling’ in modern society. Of course, when a person grows, ultimately, they gain the most. But they alone don’t profit, like they alone couldn’t grow. It is such that, a person is much like a tree - oft times, people other than the planter(s)/gardener(s) and the plant benefit a lot too. This humble writer would like to conclude by reminding you this - humanity is a machine; when every cog turns, it grows. And sometimes, one cog can turn only when another one turns too.
