Who is Death?

Who be Lady Death? I will show her face.

Is she the kiss of the desert, which brands

her scorching blaze upon the hindered hands,

while unflinchingly offering no grace?

Or is she the ruined king in a case,

lying entombed and wrapped in cloth and strands

of blest memories of forgotten lands,

now left with only darkness to embrace?

Nay, Death is not tangible in her way.

One's spirit breathes as an ignited flame,

and on Legacy lives; Souls never fray.

Yet fires burn out in life or "death" the same.

For Death be not when one compounds with clay;

She is the last time someone speaks your name.
