Who Am I

Am I the light which brightens up the moon

Or am I the darkness showing impending gloom

Am I a clandestine affair with the devil

Or am I a conspicuous matrimony in peril

Am I the silence before the storm

Or am I the uproar in a college dorm

Am I the hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night

Or am I the melting snow from summer’s might

Am I the Atlas who holds the sky

Or am I the Icarus who dared to fly

Am I a melancholic candour

Or a guarded delight

The Yin and Yang within me

It’s a balance, a perpetual fight
