White Ants

Updated: Oct 2, 2024

White ants, they come and go

Eating through books, row by row

Their tiny jaws, so sharp and strong

Destroying words, they don't belong

Pages turn to dust, words disappear

As the white ants keep drawing near

Silent and swift, they move along

Feasting on stories, both old and new, all gone

Oh, how they love the paper and ink

It's a feast for them, they never think

Of the tales they devour, the knowledge lost

As they keep chewing, at any cost

White ants, a small but mighty foe

A destroyer of books, they never show
