Where There Is Water
Dreaded start of the night,
The never-ending fight,
My eyes close despite,
Showed a tired brain’s might.
There came a hose,
A curse to those,
Imagination that will pose,
From imagination it rose.
A fireman I am,
Inside and outside,
A heroic act turns to shame,
The fire is put out,
But at what cost?
Find a sunny spot,
Make sure it is hot,
The mattress I just bought,
Now like the rest, only a thought.
