Where The Music Of Hope Can Be Heard
By Abhyuday Kiran Hadal
The ripples faded with the slowly ebbing sound of an instrument unknown;
Breeze hushed and stopped to hark, for the melodies carried the scent of fresh dew;
The trees swayed with resonance, as though trying to accompany the harmony;
An atmosphere of great gravity was set by the dim early hours of dawn;
A nameless force had clasped the sun and fixated it firmly in its place at the horizon;
While the same force did its best the keep the incandescent moon afloat;
Auspicate dreams overflowed from very crevice of ether;
Shimmering shadows cast forth by the loch, all awaiting the moment;
Just as the first leaf descended and touched the nurturing water;
The music began, nature listened on to the wonderful melody;
Divinity seeped out of the young man, who played the instrument with euphoric expressions that were mischievous and yet so beautiful;
His lips made an impressive embouchure over the flute, gentle wisps of his flowed through while his fingers danced, twirled and pirouetted on the holes gracefully;
The suddenly perked ears of deer and cottontails paid homage to the mesmeric rendition;
When he played the final note, time began to move once again;
An eternity was shattered;
The luminous moon had sunk once again;
While his radiant and warm counter-part arose like a phoenix out of ashes;
Azure mists that covered the dense verdant forest quickly retreated;
Dawn had dispelled the magical fragrance of wild-jasmines;
Crimson overwhelmed the dark cobalt sky;
Chirps of feathered-folk cut through the aura of stillness enveloping in the forest;
The youth began to prepare for his departure;
Nature hadn’t and it silently suppressed its feelings;
The divine esoteric night had passed, but nature wasn’t ready to forget the moments spent;
As cyclical as life is, the forest would wait once more for him to return,
And bless the ears that listen, and forsake the ennui;
The still waters of the pond were now booming with signs of life;
Trees looked compassionately at the pond shedding leafy tears;
The viridian forest would wait for the time they too would glow with life;
Now, they had to wait for him, the one who emancipated the forest and filled it with life.
