"Where Is My Peace?"

Updated: Oct 5, 2024

By Prithvi Gupta

"Where do you find your peace?" a known stranger asked me.

"My peace?"

It's in the cloudy sky,

It's in the ocean dry.

It's in the camphor's flame,

It's in the trapped lifeless pain.

It's either the twinkling stars,

Or in the ringing anklets at war.

It's lost in the pages of my books,

Suffocating in the mirror at the nook.

It's the strong essence of spices,

Or in the depth of all vices.

I search for it everywhere,

And land back at square one,

I've searched miles apart but

I've lost, losing to what I once won.

My peace, may be somewhere.

Not in these lifeless sculptures,

But into those idols,

In which I breath life,

I'm so mad so to search and strife,

In my action-driven cart,

When my peace finally lies in my heart...
