Where I belong:

Maybe

It wasn’t meant for me.

I cried in cornered cabinets,

“It wasn’t meant to be”

The ocean stretches

through unknown land.

Maybe I belong

Where my feet touch

The sand.

Beneath the weight,

where I can’t let go-

I was told I reached

a new record low.

“I promise it wasn’t planned.”

Maybe I belong

Where my feet

touch the sand.

Not only did I fail-

I failed

to fall out of line

Haunted by promises,

It creeps like a thought

I can’t find.

What if I’m better off,

Where they deem me as

Blind?

Prison promised justice;

I protected my lie.

Under my breath I broke

a truth,

“Just tell me why-”

I cursed the angels hand,

Maybe I belong

In prison land.

4 corners,

can’t escape.

“You have 3 months left,

Won’t you just give it

a break?“

Her eyes lingered, and

my soul was scanned.

Maybe I belong-

Where they can’t

Understand.

Walking back and forth,

Wishing the ocean was

Just north.

Away from stubborn land.

They would then let me

go,

just for a day.

But who am I kidding?

And where will I stay?

“You’re banned”

It wasn’t like I belonged

Somewhere grand.

Maybe I belong,

Where my feet touch

No land.
