XY CLAN SHORT FOR COMPETITION

The Short is Called: The Washer-Dryer Scene

This scene is narrated by my character Carmen, who is checking the family's big mansionette with her beloved fiance, a handsome Japanese army Captain named Adrian. Carmen's cousin Amy's ex-boyfriend Alex recently visited and he's terrorizing their household, so Carmen and Adrian are extra careful during their routine checks.

THE FUNNY WASHER-DRYER SCENE...

Adrian and I check the different parts of the house separately...I find our friends, a young Korean redhead named Jay and my musical gay friend Mike, acting strangely...

Carmen: Mike...Jay...what's going on?

Mike's hauling stuff...Mike: Oh, hey Carmen...

Jay looked worried...Jay: Where?

When he sees me, he smiles...Jay: Hi...

Carmen: What are you 2 moving?

Jay: That new guy's trying to order new stuff for us...

Carmen: Please no...Adrian and I didn't say yes to any of this...

Mike: New guy? We have a new guy?

I look exhausted...Carmen: He's not a new guy. He's Amy's crazy ex...she called him to come here...

Mike looks concerned...Mike: It's not Alex, is it?

I say nothing...Mike screams like the gay guy equivalent of fear...

Jay: It's ok man. We got a new washer-dryer...

Carmen: No...

Mike: Carmen's right. Why buy a new one? We have a perfectly good one...

Jay: I don't know. Helps to have a 2nd one? We have like more than 10 people in the house...

I'm dreading as I ask this question...Carmen: Is the brand Japanese?

They look at the item, inspecting it...Jay: No...

Carmen: What brand is it?

I'm about to cry...

Mike looks unsure as he reads the unfamiliar name...Mike: (Insert fake name of a cheap brand here)...?

Jay: Oh. That's the overpriced cheap crap right?

Mike: Oh no -turn to me, realizing how I'd react-...

I scream like I just found a dead animal...it's so out of character; I almost never scream...I freaked out so badly I threw the damn thing out, with ease...

Mike & Jay look like this: O_O...

PART 2 OF THE SCENE

After my scream of horror, Adrian shows up...his quick footsteps as familiar as breathing...Adrian: What's going on? I hear screaming here...is Carmen alright?

Mike: We're in danger here, Captain...you should check on your wife...

Adrian: I...-about to correct him about me being wife, decide to just let it be as he sees me in a corner looking scared-

I'm looking freaked out...Adrian: Darling...

He comes over to get me...

I see him...I rush to hug him...Carmen: Oh Adrian, it's horrible...

Adrian's handsome face looks concerned...Adrian: What happened amor?

I grabbed onto Adrian like he was my lifeline...Carmen: They...Alex & Amy...tried to buy a non-Japanese branded washer...

Adrian looks disturbed...Adrian: One of those cheaply made ones?

I nod, looking like I want to cry...Adrian: -Shaking his head in disbelief- What a waste of resources...

Carmen: They dare bring in a non-Japanese brand...-speechless & disgusted at the same time-

Adrian looks all around the room & he simply asks 1 thing...Adrian: Did the boys throw it out?

Carmen: I did.

Adrian nods in approval...Adrian: Good.

He pats me, rubbing my hand to comfort me...

Jay has a realization...Jay: Wait. We could've returned it...get some money & rub it in his face...

Carmen: Alex burns his receipts...

Jay flips out...Jay: What kind of idiot does that???

Mike: The kind of idiot who thinks peeing in someone's mouth is romantic...

Jay: -BLECH Look-

Adrian tries not to gag...I rub his back gently...Adrian: -Heaving- I recall you, informing me of this...

I nod, looking fearful...Carmen: & Amy still wants him for some reason...

Adrian: Some people have little standards...

Adrian can't help himself but look at me, admiring me to keep the gross thoughts out...I'm wearing my casual home clothes, but my attractive bits are obvious...

When I turn to look at him, he makes a decision...

Adrian: Amor, let's take a nap before dinner...

Carmen: Please...there's too much to do...

Adrian: We can do that later...rest is what's important now...

I relent, hugging his strong arm...Carmen: Ok...

I hold onto his arm as we turn to leave...Adrian: Carmen and I shall now retire...for productivity purposes...

Jay: -Teasing- Ooh, they're gonna be productive in the bedroom alright...

Mike: Jay...!

I'm tired but I had time to give him “the bitch face”...Carmen: I will kill you after we kill that Alex...when we return from our rest...

Adrian: You two should be ashamed of yourselves. Making a petite woman throw out a waste of technology...

Adrian leaves with Carmen...

Mike and Jay are left alone to chat...Mike turns to Jay...

Mike: At least she's strong...when she's angry...

Jay: She-Hulk kinda power -giggles-...
