Skittish in nature and pretense of an ever-present calmness
Resembling the calm water that hides the turbulence beneath
Wondering the role one plays in life and the reason for their existence
Whether one is the drop of water in the ocean or the whole ocean itself.
Loved by many but wanted by barely any, one treads the day
Waiting to be wanted by as many when loved by many
The tree that gives the shade is green and rich in abundance
It is easy to be thankful for it on a hot day and forget any other day.
Being who one wants to be is never a disappointment
Learning to be part of the world in a way that makes sense to oneself
It takes an intrepid spirit to gather the uniqueness of themselves being let out
Many try to rope those and many pump false air, so you are strangled or you burst.
Then there are those who never want to be seen even if they could
As the moon that gets shy and covers itself among the clouds
Try as one might to hide and avoiding showing their presence
They shine through the clouds with the faintest light- bright and powerful.
Strangulating the essence of life when one moves forward hoping for meaning
As though a parade of rain showers that drench you with relentless significance
Sparkles of delight and chuckles of acceptance are but a fleeting few
Embracing them with open arms and pocketing them for the distant future.
