When the skies rained fire

When the skies rained fire

Guardians directed their ire

On the sheltered, whose fates,

They passed over and over

To sloppy hands that played

Games of dice, games of blame.

Anxious eyes watch their town blaze

Orange blooms tipped with grey

Mimics folded hands in fervent prayer.

Proud pillars and columns

Asleep, in which is, history and heritage

Reduced to dust, reduced by fire.

Manors of Lords, huts of serf

All alike, razed to mud.

Friends snubbed, foes sustained

A saga of tyranny, a bully narrates

And dancing to his tunes, with wild abandon

Are puppets of slush, puppets of clay. image1790496696840.png

A lone figure emerges, pledging peace

A promised Saviour, a Shepherd, a Prince.

Bound and gagged, the flock follows,

Defying means no scraps, no dregs

For brittle bones and weak guts, far excel,

A famished life, in the valley of death.

So, the sheep turn a blind eye

Even though bloodlust reeks

from their Messiah, a wolf in disguise,

As he merrily leads them on

A quest of doom, a quest of despair.

And the sham continues

Generations enslaved,

Without knowing dew.

The shepherd fattens

Gorging on his sightless crew/prey

How should the oppressed continue,
