When Love Turns Cold A Sonnet Of Abandonment

A son once cherished, now cuts off his kin.

A daughter, beloved; who now betrays for selfish pride.

They take their wealth, the house where they live,

And leave the parents with no place to abode.

How swiftly they forget the love once shown,

The sleepless nights, the sacrifices, the toil.

With cold neglect, they make their hearts stone.

And sell their love for which they once would boil.

The ging hands that once tenderly fed.

Now gasp for air, forsaken and left to weep.

They cast aside those who sowed every seed.

And left them eternity in despair, alone to sleep.

O’ cruel is the child who turns away

When love is the lost, as night devours day.
