When All This Is Over

Over! When all this is over

Will we comprehend only then

The broken manacles of an enclosure

A stroll in the park, freedom again

Done! When all this is done

Will we live another day to see

The diabolical race we have become

Killing in the name of democracy

Fini! Quand tout cela est fini

Will we take a moment to remember

How we suffered and lost too many

A neighbour, a friend, a family member

End! When all this will end

Will we be new in mind and heart

Let our prejudiced thinking amend

With the rising day, a brand new start

Finish! When all this will finish

Will we still be as incorrigible

An invisible power made us diminish

To remind us we are not invincible

Maybe in the end nothing remained

Not you, not me, just gravel separated

And our ashes so poignantly explained

That we could have been better fated

But chose to be annihilated
